Organization Background

KISIMA Peace and development has been created in 1997 in Kismayo town of Jubba Region and its current headquartor in Garowe town of Puntland, KISIMA is an autonomous, passionate, ambitious, voluntary and non-governmental development organization registered in Somalia, Kenya and Sweden and Australia and committed to tackling poverty and injustice in Somalia and with the aim is to alleviate the suffering of the needy people without any distinction of race nationality, tribe, religion or political opinion and to improve the livelihood of disadvantaged people as well as facilitate the emergency programs and support development  of the civil society through capacity building and the promotion of democracy and human rights. The organization is governed by board composed of 7 representatives, independent individuals. KISIMA global strategy is ‘to create local institutional problem solving capacity by supporting youth and facilitating the communities’ (and their community based organizations’) with experience-knowledge intellectuals as stakeholders’

KISIMA main thematic sectors are Food security, youth development, education standard, fighting poverty, IDPs, promote gender equality; improve child mortality and maternal health, good governance, compact HIV/Aids and other diseases
